David Krňanský
David Krňanský studied in the studio of Jiří Kovanda at the Faculty of Art and Design at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, and then in the studio of Jiří Černický and Marek Meduna at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. During his studies, he founded art group bhg (black hole generation) with his classmates Julius Reichel, Martin Lukáč and Štěpán Marek, which critically commented on the imperfections of the contemporary artistic environment. He focuses mainly on painting and has long been exploring the theme of the crisis. His work has been presented at several solo and group exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and abroad, for example at the Jelení gallery, Futura gallery and Hunt Kastner.
